Lisa works across the university to promote global research and academic collaborations and inclusive global opportunities. She is committed to opening doors to those with the fewest opportunities to pass through them, and with the belief that making connections across the globe matters for humanity and the planet.​

​ Lisa manages a team of 20 professionals who manage international agreements, study abroad, support for international students and scholars, English Language Program, and global learning programs. She has led the effort to establish international dual degrees across campus, grown international research collaborations, overseen the revitalization of the English as a second language program, co-authored an international graduate recruitment plan, and expanded global learning opportunities for students both at home and abroad including an immersive, local Spanish language summer academy. ​

​ She has also served in the Alvarez College of Business as Associate Dean for International Programs and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies. She is the recipient of the Patrick J. Clynes Excellence in Faculty Service Award and was named the Best Undergraduate Professor for the Department of Entrepreneurship and Technology Management. She has received the President's Distinguished Achievement Award and the UTSA Richard S. Howe Excellence in Service Award. ​

​ She serves on the Operating Council of the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC) and served on the 2021 CII Summer Meeting Planning Committee. She was an Advisee in the AIEA 2020-21 Senior Advisors Program. She serves on the board of directors of the San Antonio–Mexico Friends Council (SAMFCO) and as chair of their gala committee in 2021-2, and was Director and Board Chair of the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio.
